Choosing The Right Stock Photos

Authenticity is important on social media, but sometimes it’s necessary to use a few stock photos. They can bulk up your content and help you keep a consistent feel on your feed!

When choosing stock photos there are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Keep your brand colors close

I like to open my brand colors in one window and put it side by side with the gallery of photos. The whole photo doesn’t have to match exactly but it’s important that the main color in the photo matches at least one of your brand colors.

  2. Stick to a theme

I’ve chosen vintage beach as the vibe for my brand. That means that I use a lot of palm trees and beach scenes. What vibe is your brand? Light and bright, dark and moody, mountains, beach, or city? There is no wrong answer but I recommend picking just one and sticking with it!

  3. Make sure they make sense!

The line between elegant branding and tacky fillers is making sure the photo makes sense! Does it fit your brand? Does it fit your caption? Does it feel beautiful and intentional? With each photo, you should be able to answer yes to all three of these questions!

I hope this helps!
