Creating a Community With Your Brand
Your small business is your passion project. We know that you don’t just see it as just another job and you want your clients to see your business as more than a product to consume, but instead, a community to be a part of. Below are a few ways that you can use social media to create a community around your brand.
Share your own story. If your clients don’t know who you are, they won’t feel connected. Sharing the business origin story and your everyday life helps make your brand feel more human.
Balance brand content with community content. To create a real community on social media you need to balance sales posts with other content. This may look like having a discussion question of the week or sharing a behind-the-scenes look or just checking-in to see how everyone is doing. This important part of these community posts will be to encourage engagement and interaction.
Repost user images or try a takeover. Encouraging your community to post about your product or service and then reposting that content on your page not only enforces the “we’re all in this together” mentality, but it also acts like a review for interested people to see why they should join in! Another great way to get people invested is to ask some of your most loyal followers to do a takeover and share in their own words why they love your product.
