LaterCon Reflections and Learnings

Last week I attended a virtual social media conference called LaterCon that was held by Later.com, a social media scheduling tool platform.

This conference was jam packed with valuable information, some I knew well and some that was completely new to me!

This gig is all about constant growth of knowledge on new techniques, algorithms, and platforms. Never ending learning is what comes with the territory of a social media agency, along with being able to share that knowledge with all of you!

With that being said, I wanted to share a few of my biggest takeaways from LaterCon so that hopefully you can utilize them in the future or they can spark a creative action for your business here and now ✨

Consistency across all platforms

Whether it be Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, or TikTok. Consistency is key across all of your social media platforms. Your audience follows you because they want to see YOU and everything your profession has to offer. Which means showing up on your feed daily is essential to showing your followers you’re there for them.

Visual Storytelling

There’s a reason why it’s called “stories” on Instagram.

You’re showing your audience a story of your life and business, and they want to relate and engage in that story!

They want to watch you in action which means making a mental note to document you and your business through video weekly, if not daily.

Community over Quantity

Whether you have 200 or 20,000 followers it’s the authenticity that you create that will attract people to build a community behind your brand.

Having more followers doesn’t necessarily mean more engagement or sales.

It’s having those individuals behind your business that invest in engaging with you and look forward to when you show up on their social media feed❤️

Implementing these tips can seem like a lot to add onto your plate as a business owner—which is why I’m here to help if you ever find yourself biting off more than you can chew 🍫
