Is Consistency Really Key When Showing Up on Social Media?

I think we’ve all heard “Consistency is key!” a million times when it comes to how we show up on social. The Simply Social Co. is even guilty of using that advice without real substance once or twice🙈

While consistency is needed for growth, there are also other factors to consider. Social media (literally every platform) changes rapidly by the 🎶day, week, month, and even year🎶

It’s easy to throw a “Just keep at it!” attitude into the universe and hope it sticks. But what about burnout? Or when you have a creative block? Or literally anything that disrupts your normal routine?

When you start believing quality over quantity rings true within this topic, you’ll realize how nice it is to provide valuable knowledge and inspiration to your community when you don’t feel like you HAVE to pump out meaningless content every day just to stay relevant.

Here’s our advice:

Grab a brand new notebook and set it aside for content ideas. When you have a thought that would make a good post, write it down. When you have a tip you think others would benefit from, write it down. When you struggle with something that others might be able to help you with, write it down.

Actively releasing these thoughts and ideas onto a piece of paper helps your brain to not be in overdrive trying to remember them for later. Especially when you already have 17 other things going on at once because…life🤷‍♀️ Plus doing this will also help bring more value and substance to your content, and in return to your community—which is the end goal!

So overall, consistency is an ingredient to help you succeed, but not the end all be all😘

Takeaway tip to make you feel better about not being consistent👇

Just like a true friend would understand why you dropped off the face of the earth for a while to recharge—so would your Instagram community. Especially when you come back refreshed and ready to provide quality content.
